For Truck Unloading Hopper (TUH) – Full Cone Spray Type
The HMC PWDS (Plain Water Dust Suppression) System is a robust, high-pressure solution designed to suppress airborne dust during truck unloading operations using full cone spray nozzles. This system is ideal for coal handling and other bulk material applications where wide-area coverage and reliable misting are essential.
Application
- Location: Truck Unloading Hopper (TUH) – Coal or Bulk Material Receiving
- System Type: Plain Water Dust Suppression with Full Cone Spray
- Installation: Spray headers mounted around the hopper periphery and approach zone
Principle of Operation
- The system utilizes full cone nozzles to deliver a uniform spray pattern that covers a wide area with fine water droplets
- Each nozzle discharges 2.5 LPM at 5–10 Bar, forming a dense mist that captures airborne dust particles and causes them to settle
- Pump Activation: Manual by default; optional auto-start available
- Spray Activation: Triggered automatically during truck unloading or via operator control
Automation & Control
- Operator Control: Spray actuation from the control cabin using LPBS switch to energize normally closed solenoid valves
- Sensor-Based Logic (Optional):
- Vehicle detection sensors trigger spray based on truck movement
- Adjustable timer ensures spray duration matches unloading cycle
- Interlocking: Solenoid boxes interlocked with unloading mechanism to ensure continuous spray during material discharge
- Coverage: Full cone nozzles create overlapping spray zones to form a continuous water curtain around the hopper
Pre-Wetting System (Optional)
- Waiting Trucks: Pre-wetting nozzles installed at the hopper entrance moisten the top layer of coal or material
- Peripheral Curtain:
- Additional atomizing nozzles may be installed for fine misting
- Activated via a dedicated high-pressure pump
- Enhances dust capture before and during unloading
- Dust Capture: Fine mist interacts with airborne dust, increasing particle weight and causing it to settle with the material flow
Water Quality Requirement
- Clarified water is recommended to prevent nozzle clogging and scale formation
- Ensures consistent spray performance and long-term system reliability
